thanks to neighbors<\/p>\n

from my bed confined<\/p>\n
That one window my only<\/p>\n
the moon my recurring<\/p>\n
companion<\/p>\n
my visitor in the dark<\/p>\n
if clouds showed mercy<\/p>\n
so immediate<\/p>\n
so full of sensibles<\/p>\n
of my youth<\/p>\n
Granted the view was<\/p>\n
imperfect already<\/p>\n
through salted pane<\/p>\n
corroded screen<\/p>\n
and eyeglass smudges<\/p>\n
(when I bothered the fumbling)<\/p>\n
but<\/p>\n
this shiny new fence<\/p>\n
mocked my simple need<\/p>\n
adding a new layer between<\/p>\n
me and her face<\/p>\n
the one I remembered tucked<\/p>\n
under a warm coat on a chill evening<\/p>\n
in the autumn behind the dorm<\/p>\n
back when autumn held<\/p>\n
