Winona LaDuke"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can hear her voice now<br \/>\nthe cadence, the shape, the brilliance and power<br \/>\nOf her words.<br \/>\nI remember the first time I saw her speak<br \/>\nand thinking, she is my forever hero.<br \/>\n(I will later introduce myself<br \/>\nIn awkward, gushing fan struck style<br \/>\nwhich she will graciously and with abundant humor and humility<br \/>\naccept in stride)<\/p>\n<p>How she walks upon this land<br \/>\ntilling soil<br \/>\ngrowing rice and hemp and faith<br \/>\nDefending her home<br \/>\nSpeaking out, showing up<br \/>\nthrough hours and years<br \/>\nOf procedural hearings<br \/>\nAgainst those who would profit by devouring water and land<br \/>\nwith their sickness of consumption,<br \/>\nwhile all the time raising her children<br \/>\nin power and love.<br \/>\nI am proud to say I have sat at the table with this amazing<br \/>\nand most courageous woman.<br \/>\nHonor the Earth,<br \/>\nIndeed. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I can hear her voice now the cadence, the shape, the brilliance and power Of her words.
