It’s just not an easy word
\nIt makes my skin crawl
\neverytime I hear it
\nMakes me cry because I know
\nYou’re not coming back<\/p>\n
I’ve gotten close to so many
\nSome are still here
\nsome gone and
\nsome are in transition
\nWhat a miserable word<\/p>\n
I don’t understand how this
\nis part of God’s design for my
\nlife.
\nWhy does everyone do this?
\nwhy can’t you do the opposite?<\/p>\n
Like a caged bird I have to
\nset you free.
\nI’d rather keep your feathers
\nbright and glossy
\nbut I can’t<\/p>\n
I’d rather you return to me
\nteach me more lessons
\nBut instead-<\/p>\n
I’ll see you coursing the skies from afar
\nnever coming near again, but always there
\non the outside looking in
\nthere if I need someone to talk to
\nbut not able to reply again<\/p>\n
There it is again
\nmy skin’s crawling
\nIt’s getting closer and closer
\nIs there a way to push it back?<\/p>\n
We’ve had a good run-
\nwe’ve learned from each other
\nI’m not going to stand in your way
\nYou have to go where led.<\/p>\n
The time is at hand and I know
\nthis is it.
