I haven&#8217;t read a book<br \/>\nfor months. Instead, emails, the torrents<br \/>\nof bad news, one unthinkable reality<br \/>\nafter another. I end each day wanting<br \/>\nhours more. Is my old life elsewhere,<br \/>\nrunning on a hamster wheel?<\/p>\n<p>1000-piece jigsaw puzzles fill<br \/>\nmy friends&#8217; excess hours. Long<br \/>\ndistance grandkids call. What about<br \/>\ngrandparents? The virologists field<br \/>\nthe questions.
