These blame gamey days<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

of lockdowns and <\/span>attempted<\/span> pick us ups.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have become the captains<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

of our own quarrels<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

the very great and the very terrible<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

of us all, displayed for all to see.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Touch from a distance<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The photographed beaches of bodies, these last few years<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

of swept up <\/span>refugees<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

are now the front page of swathes of folk sunning themselves.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The distrust of binary politics and the flimsy news reports,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

how we try to shake ourselves from this funk<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

by the boredom of this <\/span>humdrum<\/span> rapture.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The newscasts of the deaths of thousands filtering<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

across the rolled out countryside. This greenish land <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Touch from a distance <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The dictates, the loose tooth thinking<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

by\u00a0governments and their advisors<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

who <\/span>jangle<\/span> the keys in front of the cell doors.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They keep us stuffed up with sport on Television,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

keep the question from our lips, we are not all equal when<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

the sacrifices of the many are made for the privilege of the few.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
