{"id":63785,"date":"2020-06-27T11:38:10","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T15:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=63785"},"modified":"2020-06-27T15:21:28","modified_gmt":"2020-06-27T19:21:28","slug":"silver-lining-hour-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/silver-lining-hour-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Silver Lining &#8211; Hour 3 Prompt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\">The sky darkened and the cool breezes regaled<\/p>\n<p>Trapped outside, she felt the urgency to hurry home but she also reveled in the beauty of nature<\/p>\n<p>What was a person to do<\/p>\n<p>Lightning began flashing around her as thunder inched closer<\/p>\n<p>Still, she stood, camera in hand as the seconds ticked away from her walk in safety<\/p>\n<p>The rain began to pour<\/p>\n<p>In every challenge, there is a silver lining<\/p>\n<p>Whipping on the breeze, the rain smacked her face like a fist on a volleyball<\/p>\n<p>She picked up the pace, as the lightning zigzagged over her head<\/p>\n<p>Her heart raced as she struggled through the rain, gushing like a waterfall<\/p>\n<p>She failed to notice the crack in the sidewalk; her shoe did not<\/p>\n<p>Falling, as the thunder clapped, she screamed as her camera went flying<\/p>\n<p>Bruised and battered, she tried to get up, disoriented in the rain and from the blow to her head<\/p>\n<p>Was the walk or the attempt at pictures worth it<\/p>\n<p>In every challenge, there is a silver lining<\/p>\n<p>She did not think of the camera, as she headed home to nurse her wounds and ice her head.<\/p>\n<p>Did she even remember it? Hard to say.<\/p>\n<p>The scene could have described her life: lonely, confused, empty and battered<\/p>\n<p>As she bandages her arm, a knock at the door.<\/p>\n<p>A sweet young man held her camera. He had just moved in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI saw you fall and took one picture for you.\u201d He said.
