My tight coiled hair fills the frame<\/p>\r\n

Of an otherwise short existence<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

They tell me “heat. Add heat”<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

To straighten and elongate<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What’s more they say it’s not enough<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

And so I add extra chemicals that burn<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Good hair Bad hair White hair Black heir<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The rain and humidity aggravates<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My efforts to fit in to this tight box<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My hair begins to shrivel<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Outsiders laugh and gawk<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Asking to touch what is not theirs<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

They think me eccentric<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Good hair Bad hair White hair Black heir<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

All the posters all around straighten out<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Can’t get me down<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I take my tight coiled hair to shake<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I watch it puff and expand and<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Rightfully take command.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It’s natural. Treat it so. 100% mine<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
