Or at least the effects can be curtailed,<\/p>\n
If we keep our distance; stay six feet away<\/p>\n
All through the night, all through the day<\/p>\n
And are overly careful when we get the mail..<\/p>\n
But for so many, it obviously failed\u2026<\/p>\n

Wearing a mask everywhere I go.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
You can\u2019t see the smiles hiding from view.<\/p>\n
Maybe, in their eyes, they are smiling at you,<\/p>\n
But remember to be cautious in everything you do.<\/p>\n
Even if they think you might be smiling too.<\/p>\n
The virus gets them young, get them old, gets them dead.<\/p>\n
The psychological \u2018what ifs\u2019 jangle in their head.<\/p>\n
And the ones that make it through are damaged ever more.<\/p>\n
With malfunctioning hearts and fears by the score.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Wearing a mask everywhere I go.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m tired of this mask and keeping far apart.<\/p>\n
It might be better off if I had to lose my heart,<\/p>\n
Than to breathe only covert, stinted breaths of hope,<\/p>\n
And chance a closer view at what love looks like? Nope!<\/p>\n
But wait\u2014is it worth it? I will never know–<\/p>\n
