We have all lost our focus<\/i><\/p>\n
In the world we live today.<\/i><\/p>\n
To busy worrying about the effect<\/i><\/p>\n
When the cause should be on display.<\/i><\/p>\n
Sexism, Racism and discrimination <\/i><\/p>\n
Are all problems that’s true<\/i><\/p>\n
But instead of placing blame<\/i><\/p>\n
You should be asking \u201cWhat did I<\/b> do?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
\u201cHow am I a part of the problems<\/i><\/p>\n
Society dwells on today?<\/i><\/p>\n
What can I do to fix it?<\/i><\/p>\n
How do I change my ways?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
The answer to all these questions,<\/i><\/p>\n
Is one tiny little word<\/i><\/p>\n
Kids<\/b> are where our answers lie<\/i><\/p>\n
You may think that idea absurd.<\/i><\/p>\n
But really think about or kids<\/i><\/p>\n
And the society in which we live.<\/i><\/p>\n
They grow up thinking \u201cIt’s all Mine.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
So they say \u201cGive<\/b> it too me, Give<\/b> it too me, Give<\/b>.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n
They grow up with absent parents<\/i><\/p>\n
Who are too busy to teach<\/i><\/p>\n
And when their caught doing wrong<\/i><\/p>\n
We don’t explain we preach.<\/i><\/p>\n
Or even worse we do nothing<\/i><\/p>\n
No punishment will stick<\/i><\/p>\n
Because we’re a bunch of cowards<\/i><\/p>\n
Who don’t want to be seen as strict.<\/i><\/p>\n
We want to be our kids friend<\/i><\/p>\n
Not the one to law down the law,<\/i><\/p>\n
And we tell them that they’re owed<\/i><\/p>\n
That is a huge flaw.<\/i><\/p>\n
No one is owed anything,<\/i><\/p>\n
If you want it, it must be earned.<\/i><\/p>\n
If we had taught them that<\/i><\/p>\n
There’s be no riots or businesses being burned. <\/i><\/p>\n
There may not exactly be peace,<\/i><\/p>\n
But if taught wrong from right<\/i><\/p>\n
Or told no instead of yes,<\/i><\/p>\n
They wouldn’t be wounded at every slight.<\/i><\/p>\n
The world has many problems,<\/i><\/p>\n
But we’re too focused on our wants<\/i><\/p>\n
To see through the awful haze<\/i><\/p>\n
To the real problems out front.<\/i><\/p>\n
We are failing our kids left and right<\/i><\/p>\n
But it’s not too late to change.<\/i><\/p>\n
Take stock of your life<\/i><\/p>\n
And see what needs to be rearranged.<\/i><\/p>\n
Talk to your kids and listen,<\/i><\/p>\n
They have a lot to say.<\/i><\/p>\n
We could turn the world around<\/i><\/p>\n
In such a positive way.<\/i><\/p>\n
Teach your kids to be better,<\/i><\/p>\n
Teach them all you know,<\/i><\/p>\n
Show them by living right,<\/i><\/p>\n
