Dear William<\/span><\/p>\n

I keep wondering, what you heard or saw.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0soot <\/span>grainy<\/span> details<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

of how you fell.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That last time we spoke a few years before<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

you now confided of hearing voices in those final school years<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

all I could do was feel<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

that at last we left those satchel days behind<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

when I severed our friendship<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I regret that.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So,<\/span> I felt good our last words were happy, peaceful<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

full of interest in each other and how we were these days.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You had landed this job in France.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We had been there for each other in the early years<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

when no one else had been.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fall forward into much later<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

your younger brother at a wedding reception.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We broke out smokes and chatted about you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I <\/span>apologised<\/span> for having once wondered <\/span>out loud<\/span> what had happened to you<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Neil just said his family never discuss you<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I guess some things<\/span> are just too hard never soften.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So, dear William, I hope you found something<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

got something beautiful out of life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I still think of you when the football is on, certain tv shows bring back the years.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I still miss your bad jokes and remember<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

the day Ireland beat Italy <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

and being sick on 4 pints.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rest easy brother, much more awaits<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
