All of the images are sourced from <a href=\"https:\/\/unsplash.com\/\">Unplash<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>{Anguished}<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a helluva lot of anguished souls up there<\/p>\n<p>Wondering what had hit them<\/p>\n<p>Overtaken by this novel virus<\/p>\n<p>Stricken, incapacitated and scared<\/p>\n<p>Their last moments on earth spent<\/p>\n<p>with crackling lungs and a feverish body<\/p>\n<p>Shuffling off the earthly coil<\/p>\n<p>with not a loved one in sight<\/p>\n<p>And meanwhile the rest of us<\/p>\n<p>live tormented by the overwhelm<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"4ia1h\" data-offset-key=\"cpgou-0-0\">\n<div class=\"_1mf _1mj\" data-offset-key=\"cpgou-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"cpgou-0-0\">and wonder who will be next to go<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The anguished souls turn their backs<\/p>\n<p>The earthbound pray for respite<\/p>\n<p>Mother earth lets out a long slow sigh<\/p>\n<p>and with a wry smile says:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;ll teach you now, won&#8217;t it?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/mitchell-luo-DqpQZfY5R3A-unsplash.jpg\" width=\"496\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ajanta Judd All Rights Reserved &#8211; 3am 27\/06\/2020 Australian EST Prompt 5: Using one or more of these images as a jumping off point, write a poem.
