Fleisher<\/p>\n<p>Hour 5<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prompt 5: Choose a picture and use it as the jumping off point for a poem.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sunrise on Spirit Mountain<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I open my eyes to the first glimmers of daylight,<\/p>\n<p>reveling in the morning stillness,<\/p>\n<p>that soft blue time before the world awakens.<\/p>\n<p>He is standing in my line of sight,<\/p>\n<p>maybe a half-dozen yards away,<\/p>\n<p>one foot resting on a log,<\/p>\n<p>Butterfly Flute in his hands,<\/p>\n<p>waiting.<\/p>\n<p>Peace encircles him.<\/p>\n<p>As I watch, keeping the silence,<\/p>\n<p>Grampa Sun comes up slowly over the mountain,<\/p>\n<p>silvery gold glinting the tops of Douglas fir trees.<\/p>\n<p>He puts the flute to his lips and blows his breath<\/p>\n<p>into the flute, which sings out a flute song so pure<\/p>\n<p>that all our relatives \u2014 birds, deer, squirrels, butterflies \u2014<\/p>\n<p>stop their morning rituals to listen.<\/p>\n<p>The flute song,<\/p>\n<p>born of this morning,<\/p>\n<p>born for this moment,<\/p>\n<p>creates perfect harmony between us and all things.<\/p>\n<p>Flute song calls us to walk in beauty,<\/p>\n<p>to love fully,<\/p>\n<p>to forgive freely.<\/p>\n<p>to help each other,<\/p>\n<p>to dream new dreams.<\/p>\n<p>As Grampa Sun is fully revealed, the flute song ends,<\/p>\n<p>he lowers the Butterfly Flute,<\/p>\n<p>and walks silently back to our sleeping bag.<\/p>\n<p>I open my eyes and I am home in my bed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beth A.
