mid-air wait while autumn leaves<\/p>\n
drop underneath the sight of city lights<\/p>\n
highlight buildings I\u2019ll visit next time I hang<\/p>\n
& cringe on repeat till morning I land<\/p>\n
on our kitchen chair to hear<\/p>\n
my dad say God<\/p>\n
is warning me<\/p>\n
that my homeless<\/p>\n
soul might sink to the depths<\/p>\n
of the abyss if I don\u2019t pick a room<\/p>\n
in his house or at least keep reaching<\/p>\n
against the gravity that seems too heavy<\/p>\n
even for the Almighty if I don\u2019t keep clinging<\/p>\n

with shoulders that have always been too weak<\/p>\n
I shrug off the wings he stitched to my body<\/p>\n
from birth his battle cries have frightened<\/p>\n
fallen flesh that would rather cling<\/p>\n
to anything but a cloud of hope<\/p>\n
rather fall again just to hang<\/p>\n
