We the People know not
\nof what we speak
\nor of what the ubiquitous
\n\u2018others\u2019 say, mean<\/p>\n
We the People
\nhave become a nation
\nof naysayers
\nwith little rationale we deny
\nclimates, pandemics, others
\nnot like us
\nwho do not exist
\nwho do not deserve
\nwho do not conform
\nwho do not<\/p>\n
Our scientists, ridiculed
\nmedical advice, shamed
\nno one is trusted
\neveryone has an agenda
\nworking against
\nthose who feel what
\nthey exist as
\nthey deserve
\nthey conform to
\nputs them above those
\nwho do not <\/p>\n
We the People
\nare stuck in a season of
\nirrationality
\nthat shows no sign of
\ngiving way to a new
\nenlightenment
\na more
\nreasonable way
\na less
\nconfrontational form
\nof disagreement<\/p>\n
We the People
\nhave become a totally
\ndistrustful lot
\nand are the lesser
\nfor not seeking to hear or
\nunderstand
\nthe details
\nnot just the headlines of
\nthose not to our
\nliking, way of thinking <\/p>\n
We the People
\ndon\u2019t get it
\ndon\u2019t want to get it
\nwe want to be angry
\nwant others to grasp
\nour rage
\nwe lash out instead of
\nbring in
\naccuse in place of
\nempathize
\nmost because we just
\ndon\u2019t get it<\/p>\n
We the People?
