{"id":68751,"date":"2020-06-27T17:37:43","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T21:37:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=68751"},"modified":"2020-06-27T17:37:43","modified_gmt":"2020-06-27T21:37:43","slug":"poem-9-by-ingrid-exner-using-prompt-9-canoeing-camping-and-fireflies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/poem-9-by-ingrid-exner-using-prompt-9-canoeing-camping-and-fireflies\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem #9 By Ingrid Exner using Prompt #9 &#8220;Canoeing, Camping  and Fireflies&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canoeing is magical in the<\/p>\n<p>twilight of night and,<\/p>\n<p>if you stay even\u00a0 later, a firefly may<\/p>\n<p>come into sight!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fireflies hug tree lines and,<\/p>\n<p>weave in and out<\/p>\n<p>as they dance!<\/p>\n<p>So catching sight of a firefly<\/p>\n<p>is a combination of<\/p>\n<p>luck and great chance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you stay in your cottage and don&#8217;t venture outdoors,<\/p>\n<p>you may never see a firefly<\/p>\n<p>and experience the beauty and its strange lore.<\/p>\n<p>Fireflies are drawn to the heat of the night<\/p>\n<p>and, when it gets cold,<\/p>\n<p>they disappear from sight.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, get out of the cottage and into the night,<\/p>\n<p>To see the fireflies dance!<\/p>\n<p>Oh, what a beautiful sight!<\/p>\n<p>Poem #9 by Ingrid Exner, Half Marathon 2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canoeing is magical in the twilight of night and, if you stay even\u00a0 later, a firefly may come into sight! &nbsp; Fireflies hug tree lines and, weave in and out as they dance!
