The year of 2020 was supposed to be a 20\/20 vision
\nEveryone making plans of becoming great<\/p>\n
Counting down the old year to bring in the new<\/p>\n
No one knew this year was going to be so cruel<\/p>\n
Fires taking the lives of billions of animals<\/p>\n
A possible chance at going to war<\/p>\n
Kobe lost his life alongside his daughter and seven others<\/p>\n
A pandemic that would spread global<\/p>\n
Police brutality at full force<\/p>\n
Protesting, looting, rioting<\/p>\n
Street painted with Black Lives Matter<\/p>\n
Confederate statuses being torn down<\/p>\n
No one knew that wearing a mask would become the new normal<\/p>\n
Please stand 6 feet apart, practicing social distancing<\/p>\n
This is the modern version of staying in your own personal bubble<\/p>\n
Hundreds of thousands dying from unseen forces<\/p>\n
Kids taken out of school; parents becoming homeschool teachers<\/p>\n
Students wearing their caps and gowns so they can graduate from Zoom<\/p>\n
Everyone in a panic, fighting over toilet paper…<\/p>\n
…hand sanitizer bottles, empty shelves<\/p>\n
The whole country under quarantine, locked down for weeks<\/p>\n
This has been the strangest year thus far<\/p>\n
This isn\u2019t how everyone envisioned it to be<\/p>\n
The government said it would all go away with the heat<\/p>\n
Yet it\u2019s summer and the numbers are still rising<\/p>\n
I sit everyday trying to make sense of everything<\/p>\n
But I can\u2019t quite wrap my mind around all the shenanigans<\/p>\n
All I can do is pray and talk to God<\/p>\n
Trust His Word and believe that it will all eventually come to an end<\/p>\n
COVID-19 won\u2019t defeat me<\/p>\n
