{"id":69754,"date":"2020-06-27T18:35:33","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T22:35:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=69754"},"modified":"2020-06-27T20:35:23","modified_gmt":"2020-06-28T00:35:23","slug":"hour-10-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/hour-10-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Hour 10 &#8211; Talk, or Not?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Talk, or Not?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And<\/strong> wouldn\u2019t it be quiet then?<br \/>\n<strong>if<\/strong> talking were not required<br \/>\n<strong>I<\/strong> think I should like to sit<br \/>\n<strong>ever<\/strong> silent<br \/>\n<strong>lose<\/strong> the constraints of society<br \/>\n<strong>my<\/strong> need to keep up my end of the conversation &#8211; gone<br \/>\n<strong>mouth<\/strong> shut, but not firmly<br \/>\n<strong>all<\/strong> ears, ready to hear the other person<br \/>\n<strong>my <\/strong>opinions, my thoughts, of little relevance<br \/>\n<strong>teeth<\/strong> to the wind<br \/>\n<strong>north<\/strong>-ward, into Freedom\u2019s Land<br \/>\n<strong>and<\/strong> then<br \/>\n<strong>south<\/strong> again<br \/>\n<strong>Yes<\/strong>, now I see<br \/>\n<strong>if<\/strong> I remain silent<br \/>\n<strong>I<\/strong> give up my power<br \/>\n<strong>ever<\/strong> to be ruled by those with a voice<br \/>\n<strong>lose<\/strong> my self-sufficiency,<br \/>\n<strong>my<\/strong> self-governance<br \/>\n<strong>Mouth<\/strong>, open now!<br \/>\n<strong>Oh<\/strong>, let my words tumble out<br \/>\n<strong>if<\/strong> nonsensical, so be it<br \/>\n<strong>I<\/strong> will make myself heard<br \/>\n<strong>won&#8217;t<\/strong> I? I<br \/>\n<strong>have<\/strong> to decide<br \/>\n<strong>to<\/strong> which path will I travel?<br \/>\n<strong>Talk<\/strong> or not?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Talk, or Not?
