{"id":70087,"date":"2020-06-27T19:48:31","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T23:48:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=70087"},"modified":"2020-06-27T19:49:05","modified_gmt":"2020-06-27T23:49:05","slug":"mazerunner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/mazerunner\/","title":{"rendered":"MazeRunner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the labyrinth that is my mind,<br \/>\nAn ever-changing maze that has walls of doubt,<br \/>\nCeilings of regret and doors of reflection.<br \/>\nWelcome, dear maze runner,<br \/>\nWelcome to a place I have never been to,<br \/>\nBut I wish I could go to.<\/p>\n<p>A place that had pandora&#8217;s box modeled after it,<br \/>\nConstantly has suffering, anger, and sin<br \/>\nPouring through and out of my mouth.<br \/>\nWith Joy locked away like a skeleton in a closet,<br \/>\nIn fear that unlocking that door would mean losing her completely.<\/p>\n<p>The streets are paved with memories,<br \/>\nThe boulevard of my broken dreams,<br \/>\nTwo roads down memory lane,<br \/>\nYou can find a lover&#8217;s bay and there a broken-hearted boy will be your guide.<br \/>\nThis place has a new system installed for security purposes.<br \/>\nSo these insecurities will not believe a word anyone says,<br \/>\nEven if I look in the mirror the man in it,<br \/>\nWill never accept what&#8217;s inside.<\/p>\n<p>As you go deeper,<br \/>\nYou will find a sunset of dreams,<br \/>\nKissing the skyline of opportunities,<br \/>\nAs it sets to rise on a new day.<br \/>\nFall in love with the moon.<br \/>\nAs it gives you hope that you can escape this labyrinth.<\/p>\n<p>And unlike Greek mythology,<br \/>\nThe longer you wind the rope,<br \/>\nThe deeper you venture and the more lost you become.<br \/>\nSo string it around your neck,<br \/>\nIt looks better there.<\/p>\n<p>So welcome to the inescapable labyrinth that is my mind,<br \/>\nTell me what you see,<br \/>\nBecause that is the one place I would love to go,<br \/>\nBut have never been.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the labyrinth that is my mind, An ever-changing maze that has walls of doubt, Ceilings of regret and doors of reflection.
