{"id":70256,"date":"2020-06-27T19:19:40","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T23:19:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=70256"},"modified":"2020-06-27T19:19:40","modified_gmt":"2020-06-27T23:19:40","slug":"poem-hour-eleven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/poem-hour-eleven\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem Hour Eleven"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Other Place<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve never been to that other place &#8211;<br \/>\nYou know the one.<br \/>\nHidden, secret, a degree away from normal.<br \/>\nEntered through a small wooden door,<br \/>\nOnly noticed out of the corner of your eye,<br \/>\nOr through a large wardrobe in an empty bedroom.<br \/>\nIt could be a hole in a garden wall, almost buried<br \/>\nUnder thick, heavy vines.<br \/>\nOr a locked entrance to a castle,<br \/>\nHigh in the mountains,<br \/>\nWhere no-one ever goes.<br \/>\nExcept when they do<br \/>\nAnd later return,<br \/>\nSomehow different, transported to<br \/>\nThat other place,<br \/>\nWhere I have never been<br \/>\nAnd am unlikely to ever go.<br \/>\nAnd so I watch the doors open,<br \/>\nEven as they remain closed to me.<br \/>\nI watch and I read<br \/>\nThe signs, the books,<br \/>\nFind the almost entrances,<br \/>\nAlmost hidden<br \/>\nIn plain sight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Other Place I&#8217;ve never been to that other place &#8211; You know the one.
