Hour 11: Date Night<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We called for reservations\u2014<\/p>\n
a table just for two;<\/p>\n
arrived ten minutes early, but<\/p>\n
we didn’t have a clue<\/p>\n
that the crowd that gathered at the gate<\/p>\n
was for 8:30, too!<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Fifteen minutes past our time,<\/p>\n
I had a little frown.<\/p>\n
My tummy started rumbling<\/p>\n
as I paced around.<\/p>\n
A half an hour later,<\/p>\n
we checked in with the host<\/p>\n
who confidently told us<\/p>\n
“10 more minutes at the most.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
50 minutes later,<\/p>\n
I had had enough.<\/p>\n
My boyfriend couldn’t stop me<\/p>\n
from demanding what was up.<\/p>\n
“A glitch in the computer app,”<\/p>\n
he’s all apologies,<\/p>\n
“It isn’t anybody’s fault<\/p>\n
just bad technology.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Every other party<\/p>\n
was seated getting food,<\/p>\n
but even with our table cleared,<\/p>\n
I wasn’t in the mood<\/p>\n
to let this guy quite off the hook<\/p>\n
I need to make him squirm.<\/p>\n
Being much more honest<\/p>\n
is a lesson he should learn.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Looking back on date night,<\/p>\n
we really weren’t surprised.<\/p>\n
If not for the bad luck we have,<\/p>\n
we’d have never realized<\/p>\n
all we really need<\/p>\n
to get along just fine<\/p>\n
is something mostly edible<\/p>\n
