When we walk<\/p>\n

The arch of my hips<\/p>\n

Collides with yours<\/p>\n

The length of my legs<\/p>\n

Shorten your stride<\/p>\n

Yet you always delight in the collision<\/p>\n

You slow to match your step to mine<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

Whether my mind is streaking<\/p>\n

Across the sky<\/p>\n

or at sunny ease<\/p>\n

You keep me company<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

When I move from interest to interest<\/p>\n

A bumblebee curiosity drunk on pollen<\/p>\n

You hold each one with care<\/p>\n

Marvel as though it was rare<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

When we find the home we built<\/p>\n

Can’t hold our combined becoming<\/p>\n

You cheerfully build<\/p>\n

Anew<\/p>\n

A place big enough for me and you<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

When the pieces are scattered<\/p>\n

The puzzle obscured<\/p>\n

You bring play and patience<\/p>\n

To form a picture<\/p>\n

That makes sure no piece is missing<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

To journey with you<\/p>\n

Is to wander<\/p>\n

Knowing<\/p>\n

That we are always growing<\/p>\n

That the first words on your lips<\/p>\n

When we find something new<\/p>\n

Will be<\/p>\n

“This too”<\/p>\n

“I love this too”<\/p>\n
