I write,
\nI write because it is an extension of my being.
\nI give pieces of me to the world,
\nAnd in return, the world gives me a page to write on.
\nSo that my words can reflect my emotions,
\nAnd the pages can voice my thoughts.<\/p>\n
In the past, I wrote for healing,
\nAs my emotions and tears found synchrony on my pages,
\nThere I could be vulnerable and speak the truth,
\nThe truth I could never say in the open.
\nI wrote to heal the broken,
\nTo shatter their silence and show that,
\nAmongst the million broken shards, there was beauty,
\nWaiting to be reassembled <\/p>\n
Now I write for identity.
\nI crave to know who I am and what I stand for,
\nAnd that answer can only be found as my words write over the tear stains.
\nSo I search these pages that contain my words,
\nIn hope that they may also contain my soul,
\nFinding myself searching each piece for an answer.
\nAnd not just raw emotions,
\nBut refined words and emotions.<\/p>\n
As I bleed through my pen and use the words,
\nThat course through my veins as ink.
\nI create art only I can truly admire,
\nAnd criticize.
\nAnd in that blend of love and hate,
\nI remind myself that the world is not a fairytale,
\nRather it is a story,
\nUsed as teaching to guide yourself to your goal,
\nThe rising of tides and falling of empires.
\nIt is what you leave behind,
\nThe echoes of your legacy and the labors of your journey
\nIt is beauty personified, it is,
\nLeaving my words as footsteps,
\nEtched in the minds of my readers.<\/p>\n
Opening myself up to a larger ocean of views,
\nPerspectives and knowledge,
\nI become a voice for the voiceless.
\nAnd pave my own journey,
