{"id":71602,"date":"2020-06-27T21:12:57","date_gmt":"2020-06-28T01:12:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=71602"},"modified":"2020-06-27T21:34:40","modified_gmt":"2020-06-28T01:34:40","slug":"the-time-is-at-hand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/the-time-is-at-hand\/","title":{"rendered":"THE TIME IS AT HAND"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE TIME IS AT HAND<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A wrote a poem<\/p>\n<p>Verse by verse.<\/p>\n<p>The first lined sucked<\/p>\n<p>The second was worse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Could not connect<\/p>\n<p>With a thought or a notion.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe a drink from<\/p>\n<p>My magical potion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One drink leads to two<\/p>\n<p>Before you know it, its four.<\/p>\n<p>And you discover its hard<\/p>\n<p>To type on the floor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You jump in the shower<\/p>\n<p>Hope to come to your senses.<\/p>\n<p>And get back to writing<\/p>\n<p>Using all the right tenses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now that we\u2019re reaching<\/p>\n<p>The thirteenth hour.<\/p>\n<p>Out of nowhere I\u2019m getting<\/p>\n<p>A feeling of power.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I hope I can make it<\/p>\n<p>Beyond last years\u2019 time.<\/p>\n<p>I think I can make it<\/p>\n<p>If I stop with this rhyme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And get back to attempting<\/p>\n<p>Some quality prose.<\/p>\n<p>And complete this great marathon<\/p>\n<p>Cross your fingers, here goes!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE TIME IS AT HAND &nbsp; A wrote a poem Verse by verse.
