From my new bedroom window<\/p>\n
the mouth of I’ao stretches wide and deep<\/p>\n
inviting those who hear to commune with her<\/p>\n
those in reverence to sit with her in gratitude<\/p>\n
for the aina, e lani, e kai…<\/p>\n
those with humbled and open hearts<\/p>\n
to pule e mele with her… for her.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
She teases moana with sweet breezes<\/p>\n
giving and taking across the short expanse between them<\/p>\n
and in their exchange, offering her ha to us<\/p>\n
blessing each room on this hale<\/p>\n
with the mana of all who rest in her<\/p>\n
and all who lie in the sea.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
There\u00a0 is no more sacred space than Wailuku nei<\/p>\n
no more precious gifts than those of this land and sky and ocean.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am small in their presence.<\/p>\n
