{"id":71654,"date":"2020-06-27T21:22:26","date_gmt":"2020-06-28T01:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=71654"},"modified":"2020-06-29T14:56:08","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T18:56:08","slug":"hour-13prompt-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/hour-13prompt-13\/","title":{"rendered":"Hour 13: Wash Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Wash Day<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Dirty clothes in the hamper<\/p>\n<p>Wet towels on the bathroom door<\/p>\n<p>Mismatched socks hiding here and there<\/p>\n<p>I search for them all over the floor.<\/p>\n<p>I gather all the pieces up<\/p>\n<p>And into the basket I load<\/p>\n<p>Each fetid, smelly item<\/p>\n<p>Down the stairs to the basement I go.<\/p>\n<p>A laundry pod\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>Some softener\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>Some smellies that I adore\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Then I load up the washer with nasties<\/p>\n<p>And hastily close the door.<\/p>\n<p>I wait until I hear the sound<\/p>\n<p>That the current load is done.<\/p>\n<p>I make my way back down the stairs<\/p>\n<p>Oh this is so much fun!<\/p>\n<p>I stuff the clothes in the dryer<\/p>\n<p>And roll my tired eyes<\/p>\n<p>I start it up and go my way<\/p>\n<p>With a world weary sigh.<\/p>\n<p>At last I hear the buzzer<\/p>\n<p>The clothes at last are through.<\/p>\n<p>I gently remove them from the dryer<\/p>\n<p>And fold them up for me and you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wash Day Dirty clothes in the hamper Wet towels on the bathroom door Mismatched socks hiding here and there I search for them all over the floor.
