By Lift and Drag.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lifting off from Salt Lake City,<\/span><\/p>\n

Thrown back in my seat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rising over Colorado.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rocky Mountains blink.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There are no signs that say,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now leaving Kansas city,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cnow entering “show me” state.<\/span><\/p>\n

The borders blur.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Mississippi snakes its way below me.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know I am halfway there.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rivers are much bigger,<\/span><\/p>\n

The Mountains, much smaller.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The landing not so memorable.<\/span><\/p>\n

The humidity,\u00a0 intense.<\/span><\/p>\n

I walk into the airport.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m standing in the \u201cFirst Flight\u201d state.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My first flight for me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first flight,<\/span><\/p>\n

for Orville and Wilber<\/span><\/p>\n

On their Wright Flyer.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

By lift and drag,<\/span><\/p>\n

In the time it takes,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Utah, to home in Colorado,<\/span><\/p>\n
