Dear Dr. Geisel,<\/p>\n
There seems to have been a misunderstanding.<\/p>\n
We were told that we’d be going places.
\nWell, let me tell you a thing or two, sir —
\nwe’ve got a real mess on our hands now and we simply cannot
\nkeep it under our hats any longer.<\/p>\n
My friend Cindy Lou, who lives over on
\nMulberry Street, says it doesn’t matter if we’re
\nred or blue or old or new, that every heart
\nshould have a chance to grow.<\/p>\n
(My friend Sam, I am sad to say,
\nhas gone a bit green over the whole thing, although perhaps
\nthat’s neither here nor there.)<\/p>\n
Now, to be fair, if I ran this circus it would probably be even worse.
\nBut I know some very smart people, and oh, the things they think!
\nThey say that if enough of us care a whole awful lot,
\nwe could make some real changes around here.
\nI must confess that, while I didn’t hear who first
\nhatched the plan, I’m behind it 100%.<\/p>\n
Perhaps we can sit down together sometime and discuss these matters further,
\nbut for now, I must go.<\/p>\n
