a simple gesture<\/p>\n
just because<\/p>\n
doing the laundry<\/p>\n
mopping the floors<\/p>\n
a dozen red ones<\/p>\n
or chocolate s\u2019mores<\/p>\n
an evening out<\/p>\n
when life\u2019s a bore<\/p>\n
is something you\u2019ll<\/p>\n
forever adore<\/p>\n
it does not anger<\/p>\n
doesn\u2019t keep track<\/p>\n
of any mistakes<\/p>\n
or traits we lack<\/p>\n
instead forgives<\/p>\n
with gentle word and hand<\/p>\n
and always hugs<\/p>\n
and understands<\/p>\n
protecting all, house and home<\/p>\n
opening car doors<\/p>\n
shielding from harm<\/p>\n
when daylight\u2019s gone<\/p>\n
it trusts and hopes<\/p>\n
when times are hard<\/p>\n
that together<\/p>\n
we\u2019ll get better<\/p>\n
it takes two, we\u2019re told<\/p>\n
to have<\/p>\n
and especially to hold<\/p>\n
it never fails for those who see<\/p>\n
in each other\u2019s eyes, eternity.<\/p>\n
