<\/p>\n
The Irish Stewing<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In France it\u2019s Boeuf Bourgignon<\/p>\n
In Hungary it\u2019s Goulash so hearty<\/p>\n
And Belgium, Carbonnade a la Flamande<\/p>\n
But in Ireland, it\u2019s just stew, still hearty<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
One simmered in wine<\/p>\n
The other a paprika smother<\/p>\n
The other in golden beer<\/p>\n
But this is a Guinness smother<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Sadly, the alcohol dissipates as it simmers<\/p>\n
Yet, the deep robust flavor remains<\/p>\n
The beef will be fork-tender<\/p>\n
And there likely will be no remains<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The waxy potatoes<\/p>\n
and sweetness of parsnips and carrots<\/p>\n
I ne\u2019er forget the deglazing<\/p>\n
This is grand exalted my guest of carrot<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
There were looks of concern<\/p>\n
So many stomachs full<\/p>\n
Did I serve too much<\/p>\n
But my confidence is full<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
