It is unnameable.\u201d \u2014Isabella Huppert, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I Heart Huckabees<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">My second grade teacher was paralyzed from a stroke<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">around the time I went to college. My mom and I still visit sometimes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Her husband diligently brings her what she demands:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tea, a magazine, a gift for their guests. He lifts her from her chair. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She doesn\u2019t want to do physical therapy, it hurts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He is so patient, so so kind<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Watching, I said to myself, <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yes, like that.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">My own folks, too, not to say they\u2019re perfect<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But they know how to handle each other<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">My mother stern and frazzled, my father<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Always playful but always getting the job done<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They fight, and they make up<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They say things they don\u2019t mean, but<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They know how to say sorry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So I learned a little more than most<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Like that, yes, something like that<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It doesn\u2019t seem impossible, not when it\u2019s all around you<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But anyone can forget after too long on the wrong track<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So I\u2019m huddled under a blanket heaving<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hiding my eyes so I can uglycry with total freedom<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But you don\u2019t try to drag me out, you don\u2019t try to dive in<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You pile every stuffed animal we own<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gathering me up in a fluffy stuffie bundle hill<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A group hug of mutual concern from our happy menagerie\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some of those stuffies came from exes but you\u2019re never been threatened<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They are our family too\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They each have a special power that only you and I know<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and I\u2019m sobbing now but it switched and there are small giggles<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I\u2019m crying peaceful in a comfortable heap of my history.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We\u2019re adults however we want<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and we\u2019re here for whatever is needed<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">yes this, like this, just like this.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THERAPY, BUT WITH BEARS \u201cDo not defile it with cliche.
