She appeared after a solstice full moon<\/p>\n
Bedraggled and malnourished,<\/p>\n
Fur patchy<\/p>\n
Skittish like she’d been abused<\/p>\n
Her eyes met mine and I swooned, and soon it was just us two<\/p>\n
Little pupper and an anarchist hiding out in Kipahulu<\/p>\n
Shared meals of venison and beer<\/p>\n
Her fear started to subside,<\/p>\n
Light in her eyes when we went out to explore<\/p>\n
But I had to leave and after our brief reprieve<\/p>\n
I realized I couldn’t keep her any more<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I wish I could have kept her as my own<\/p>\n
But a Kula ranch with other happy doggos served her better<\/p>\n
But every time the Solstice comes around<\/p>\n
I miss the hell out of Luna<\/p>\n
