Imbalanced and off-beat<\/p>\n
Skewing rhythms with our arrogance<\/p>\n
No matter how hard we try<\/p>\n

Wish we could act to make a difference<\/p>\n
But momentum seems to be so strong we can’t avoid destruction<\/p>\n
Malfunctioning as a species in the web of life we’re living in<\/p>\n
Hope we leave the biosphere with more than nothing<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Is it misanthropic to decry our role in greater context?<\/p>\n
Seems the road we’re headed down just can’t allow a peaceful outcome<\/p>\n
Were we always fated to destroy all that the elements have created?<\/p>\n
Or is it something we’ve become,<\/p>\n
A course that can be corrected ?<\/p>\n

Sometimes I feel numb to the evils we’ve allowed to perpetrate<\/p>\n
The fools that we’ve elected,<\/p>\n
The ignorance that’s gestated<\/p>\n
Hatred cultivated over so many generations<\/p>\n
Seems impossible to overcome at times<\/p>\n
But still I cling to something<\/p>\n
Some kind of hope<\/p>\n
That if\u00a0 collectively we recognize<\/p>\n
The error of our ways<\/p>\n
