I want you to understand\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

that my calculated dances<\/span><\/p>\n

of pleasantry and avoidance<\/span><\/p>\n

are part of my survival<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Yes, I want to play and laugh<\/span><\/p>\n

but not here because someone<\/span><\/p>\n

with a burning hatred in their heart<\/span><\/p>\n

might mistake my smile for bared teeth<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

No, I do not always have it in me to care<\/span><\/p>\n

when the air is sucked out of the room\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

and there is none left for me to breathe<\/span><\/p>\n

so I can speak as the protagonist for once<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I want to heal–to forgive and forget<\/span><\/p>\n

without tearing of parts of myself<\/span><\/p>\n

crumpling them between my own hands<\/span><\/p>\n

and throwing them in the river<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

More than anything I want to move on<\/span><\/p>\n

and find a way to ground into this place<\/span><\/p>\n

and I want to know beyond all doubt\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
