The Toast<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A grateful guest stood up<\/p>\n
With some grateful words<\/p>\n
His tongue no doubt loosened<\/p>\n
But still inventing enchanting words<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI thank the host,<\/p>\n
for this wonderful evening<\/p>\n
and am astonished at his efforts<\/p>\n
that leave me speechless, this evening\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Everyone laughed<\/p>\n
Knowing the impossibility of that<\/p>\n
So he nodded stubbornly<\/p>\n
And said with arms raised \u201ctake that!\u201d<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He grabbed his ros\u00e9 champagne<\/p>\n
And gathered himself<\/p>\n
Then bowed with joie de vivre<\/p>\n
And with dignity, sat himself<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
His address was finished<\/p>\n
By someone else<\/p>\n
Let us rejoice in the gathering of friends<\/p>\n
And I cheered, there is no one else!\u201d<\/p>\n
