Fleisher<\/p>\n<p>Hour 23<\/p>\n<p>Prompt 23:\u00a0 Write a poem about an imaginary pet or person. The poem can be from your perspective, the perspective of a neutral third party, or from the perspective of the imaginary pet or person themselves.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Perry\u2019s Imaginary Dog<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Perry always was a strange lad,<\/p>\n<p>seeing pictures in clouds,<\/p>\n<p>hearing voices from trees.<\/p>\n<p>So when Perry said he had an<\/p>\n<p>imaginary dog<\/p>\n<p>we snickered behind our hands,<\/p>\n<p>whilst pretending to listen<\/p>\n<p>very intently to his stories.<\/p>\n<p>After all, he was a good lad,<\/p>\n<p>was our Perry.<\/p>\n<p>Not a mean bone in his body,<\/p>\n<p>always helpful to his Mum,<\/p>\n<p>and didn\u2019t he mow Mrs. Gracey\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>yard when Mr. Gracey was ill?<\/p>\n<p>Yes, indeed, he did.<\/p>\n<p>So if he takes comfort from an<\/p>\n<p>imaginary dog,<\/p>\n<p>we, all of us, we\u2019ll let him have<\/p>\n<p>his comfort and not bother him about it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, that was all well and good, don\u2019t y\u2019know,<\/p>\n<p>\u2018til that one particular Saturday<\/p>\n<p>when young Perry was helping me put fresh thatch<\/p>\n<p>on the roof of my cottage.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d just gone down the ladder and picked up<\/p>\n<p>an armload of thatch, put one foot on the ladder<\/p>\n<p>to head back up,<\/p>\n<p>when Perry yells out, \u201cNo, Scotty, No! Stop!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And my word and williwigs if that<\/p>\n<p>imaginary dog<\/p>\n<p>didn\u2019t run between my feet,<\/p>\n<p>knocking me off balance, so I fell and<\/p>\n<p>dropped the whole lot of thatch on the ground!<\/p>\n<p>thoroughly disgusted, I told young Perry<\/p>\n<p>he\u2019d best be teaching his<\/p>\n<p>imaginary dog<\/p>\n<p>some manners!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beth A.
