{The Greatest Gift<\/b>} <\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The greatest gift I have been given<\/p>\n Is this precious life in which I have striven<\/p>\n to be the best person I possibly can<\/p>\n to enrich and enjoy and be kind to all.<\/p>\n Even when times have been sad<\/p>\n I cherish all that I’ve ever had<\/p>\n and from this life I’ve developed these skills<\/p>\n to play with words and create some form<\/p>\n To express what sometimes cannot be expressed<\/p>\n The ability to envision and invoke<\/p>\n To emotionally move and touch a heart<\/p>\n Merging the internal with the external<\/p>\n All these elements that I so love<\/p>\n When I’m out in nature taking photographs<\/p>\n and writing haiku to merge the spiritual<\/p>\n with the concrete and capture its essence<\/p>\n I’m in my element. What a gift!<\/p>\n But now as I write my twenty-forth poem<\/p>\n I yearn for sleep and struggle for substance<\/p>\n I feel like a marathon runner who has hit the brick wall<\/p>\n at the 20 kilometre mark and I’m all over the place<\/p>\n I’ve got the wobbles but herein lies another gift –<\/p>\n The completion of 24 hours of poetry<\/p>\n and discovering that I can actually survive<\/p>\n on waking up every hour and power napping in between.<\/p>\n I’m feeling empowered and inspired<\/p>\n so thank you my friends.
