Remember<\/p>\n
You vowed never to forget
\nTuesday, September 11, 2001,
\na business morning, workers rushing
\nto beat time clocks, when the first plane hit
\nbetween floors 93-99 of the 110-story
\nNorth Tower; it\u2019s 8:46am, do you remember?
\nAt 9:03am, a second plane hits floors 77-85
\nof the South Tower of the World Trade Center.<\/p>\n
Nineteen terrorists on suicide attacks, hijacking
\nplanes, a third hits the pentagon at 9:37am
\nand a fourth crashes into a field at 10:03am
\nin Shanksville, Pennsylvania. At 9:59am,
\nthe South Tower collapses, followed at 10:28
\nby the North Tower. Do you remember where
\nyou were, what you were doing when you heard
\nthe news? I am sure you remember the grief,
\ndisbelief, anger, distrust, misery, heart-shredding
\npain these attacks caused.<\/p>\n
Do you remember the chaos, falling steel and
\nconcrete debris, fires, and dust everywhere.
\nHorror of human cinders, cries for help, and
\ndo you remember the uniforms rushing in to
\nhelp, to do their duty to shield their community
\nfrom terrorists?<\/p>\n
Firefighters trained to control flames,
\nambulance workers trained to save lives,
\nand police officers sworn to protect and serve.
\nOne minute after the first plane hit the North Tower,
\npolice were dispatched to the scene, along with fire-
\nfighters and emergency service personnel. One minute.
\nDo you remember the photos of police covered in dust,
\ncarrying survivors, mourning victims, their tears real?
\nI wonder if you remember how proud you were of them,
\nhow proud of our city, state, and country.<\/p>\n
Try to envision the pride you displayed in seeing in flags
\nflown everywhere, our red white and blue; bloodshed
\nfrom innocent victims, protected by blue uniforms.
\nRemember?<\/p>\n

Do you remember last week when you were captured
\nby the press marching in protest, flinging profanities
\nand middle finger threats at police officers there,
\ndoing their job to keep the peace, to keep you safe
\nby controlling non-peaceful protestors?<\/p>\n
Do you remember 9\/11, Patriot Day, 2,996 victims,
\n25,000 injured, memorials of flowers and pictures
\non street corners and billboards, the missing, the agony,
\nthe loyalty of a united nation.<\/p>\n
Do you remember how you said
\nyou\u2019d never forget…<\/p>\n
