I smell orange peels<\/p>\n

past their prime<\/p>\n

desiccated in sun\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

cheers cascade down<\/p>\n

on me like waterfalls<\/p>\n

from everywhere\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I can\u2019t get enough.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I\u2019m not prone to pinch myself<\/p>\n

but this warrants a pain<\/p>\n

born of pleasure\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I finally get to scream goodbye<\/p>\n

to the worst side of myself<\/p>\n

manifest as President Agent Orange\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Reality TV had featured a peacock<\/p>\n

strutting and fanning his wings<\/p>\n

to the adoration of less and less\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

until crooked politics<\/p>\n

and internet circumvent<\/p>\n

weren\u2019t enough to keep him on our screens\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

smell has a strong memory<\/p>\n

but his septic tank of vision<\/p>\n

fades like a sunset bright from pollution\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

and I bite into a crisp Gala apple<\/p>\n

to relish the taste<\/p>\n

of something sweet<\/p>\n

and finally\u2026 a twang of hope<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
