in the daylight sky.<\/p>\n
She is this close<\/p>\n
to sanity.<\/p>\n
I’ve lived here before, she said.<\/p>\n
I’ve walked these steps,<\/p>\n
in these shoes,<\/p>\n
on these days,<\/p>\n
and have yet to step off.<\/p>\n
I keep returning, she said.<\/p>\n
I keep forgetting the message,<\/p>\n
what it said, and where I left it.<\/p>\n
I experience, she said,<\/p>\n
all the joys anew.<\/p>\n
This close to sanity…<\/p>\n
All the sorrows afresh.<\/p>\n
I’ve forgotten where I left my map,<\/p>\n

Four hundred times,<\/p>\n
repeating the same moments,<\/p>\n
walking the same shoes<\/p>\n
into raggedy bits,<\/p>\n
leaving my heart gently folded<\/p>\n
into origami birds,<\/p>\n
spread out one after another,<\/p>\n
on the ocean’s waves.<\/p>\n
She is holding my eyes,<\/p>\n
