<\/p>\n
All bent out of shape, I abandoned ship<\/p>\n
As the Clich\u00e9 Monster destroyed every quip.<\/p>\n
I tried to look on the bright side, but he was armed to the teeth,<\/p>\n
He preyed on every word I tried to bequeath.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
At my wits end, I beat around the bush<\/p>\n
Writing lyrics I knew would fall at a push<\/p>\n
I put my heart into it, but pound for pound<\/p>\n
The monster threw curveballs and they all hit the ground.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I cried ‘all hands on deck!’ And help was at hand;<\/p>\n
As luck would have it, the best in the land.<\/p>\n
I had an ace up my sleeve that was good as gold<\/p>\n
I invited her in from out of the cold.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Poetry Fairy had got back from her hols,<\/p>\n
From the sun, sea and sex, from the booze and the lolz.<\/p>\n
“What’s up, m’love?” she asked with a grin.<\/p>\n
Said I, “The Clich\u00e9 Monster has wandered back in.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“I’m back to Square One, and I’m bored to tears;<\/p>\n
The monster attacks my work in all gears.<\/p>\n
I wish he would just go and bite the dust<\/p>\n
Or I’ll be unable to earn a crust.”<\/p>\n

The Poetry Fairy sighed and looked pained<\/p>\n
She took out her bazooka, took position and aimed.<\/p>\n
The magical dust bomb puffed a plume of pink dust<\/p>\n
Coating the clich\u00e9s in a fine, single gust.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“Thank fuck!” I exhaled. “He’s gone back to the bogs.<\/p>\n
Thank you so much; you are the dog’s.”<\/p>\n
“No problem” she said. “Another day, another dollar.”<\/p>\n
