{"id":8278,"date":"2015-06-13T13:11:40","date_gmt":"2015-06-13T17:11:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=8278"},"modified":"2015-06-13T13:11:40","modified_gmt":"2015-06-13T17:11:40","slug":"poem-5-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2015\/06\/poem-5-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Poem #5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How can light take so many forms?<br \/>\nGrowing greens beneath our feet,<br \/>\ntanning or burning our skin,<br \/>\ncasting shadows that grow as the evening stretches onward.<br \/>\nAnd there&#8217;s always the saying, &#8216;without light there is no darkness&#8217; and vice versa.<br \/>\nAs equals though,<br \/>\nwhy is it that one can seem so much more powerful than the other?<br \/>\nWhen you step outside, and your eyes are blinded by the glare.<br \/>\nOr when you&#8217;re in your room at night,<br \/>\nand the darkness appears to creep towards you in tendrils,<br \/>\nreaching for your exposed heart and soul,<br \/>\nwaiting for the opportunity to crush you into dust.<br \/>\nBut with the flick of a switch,<br \/>\nthose demons in the corners of your eyes can disappear in an illuminating flash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How can light take so many forms?
