Too may boxes for far too long<\/p>\n
have been checked on my name<\/p>\n
with sweeping declarations –<\/p>\n
“You’re fat”,\u00a0“You’re lazy” “You’re ugly”<\/p>\n
“Sloppy”, “Forgetful”<\/p>\n
And many have me filed under the not’s<\/p>\n
“Not street smart” “Not capable of handling things”<\/p>\n
“Not quick on your feet” and<\/p>\n
the list goes on.<\/p>\n
I listened and I believed<\/p>\n
and ripped myself into tiny pieces,<\/p>\n
each one scrambling to get a nod,<\/p>\n
to erase the tick mark.<\/p>\n
Till one day – there was nothing left<\/p>\n
and I heard my own voice say\u00a0 – “Enough.”<\/p>\n
Now I am on a journey<\/p>\n
that belongs to me alone<\/p>\n
and on this path,<\/p>\n
I walk as a whole.<\/p>\n
