floating above the bed<\/p>\n
at night, perhaps my father<\/p>\n
communicating with me<\/p>\n
from beyond the grave.<\/p>\n

in the morning when I walk<\/p>\n
past the pond, drinking in<\/p>\n
lilies and red-winged blackbirds,<\/p>\n
my mind empty with the exception<\/p>\n
of a memory of my mother.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ghosts turn to look at me as I<\/p>\n
busy myself chopping vegetables,<\/p>\n
while painting a lily in the studio,<\/p>\n
as I nap in the afternoon.<\/p>\n
I recall the time my brother appeared,<\/p>\n
a smoky sheet of glass.<\/p>\n
