{"id":89443,"date":"2021-06-26T11:14:51","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T15:14:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=89443"},"modified":"2021-06-26T11:15:32","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T15:15:32","slug":"89443","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/89443\/","title":{"rendered":"Hour 3: Beautiful Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beyond the veil of sleepiness,<\/p>\n<p>My eyes they open wide.<\/p>\n<p>I pour myself a cup of coffee<\/p>\n<p>Take the dog outside.<\/p>\n<p>I look around, I listen<\/p>\n<p>To the sounds and sights that I can see<\/p>\n<p>I drowsily smile and stretch my arms<\/p>\n<p><strong>What a beautiful day it will be.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Slowly sipping my coffee<\/p>\n<p>I set up my writing nest<\/p>\n<p>I stumble through feeding the menagerie<\/p>\n<p>Not quite yet feeling my best.<\/p>\n<p>I stop to take a deep breath<\/p>\n<p>Send out a silent plea<\/p>\n<p>Continue my preparations<\/p>\n<p><strong>What a beautiful day it will be.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I sit in contemplation<\/p>\n<p>About the journey about to begin<\/p>\n<p>I think of all the times past<\/p>\n<p>The memories make me grin.<\/p>\n<p>Camaraderie and giddiness<\/p>\n<p>Everyone who is here would agree<\/p>\n<p>A load of anticipation<\/p>\n<p><strong>What a beautiful day it will be.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The time is drawing near<\/p>\n<p>I attempt to gather my thoughts<\/p>\n<p>They scurry around within my mind<\/p>\n<p>My stomach is churning out knots.<\/p>\n<p>I watch the clock and see the time<\/p>\n<p>Silently I give a cheer<\/p>\n<p>The prompt comes up, I now begin<\/p>\n<p><strong>That beautiful day is here!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beyond the veil of sleepiness, My eyes they open wide.
