How much of me is unfiltered?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Am I a compilation of people I\u2019ve met<\/p>\n
and admired or had issues with?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Smart kids in college.<\/p>\n
Athletes in high school.<\/p>\n
Winners with the girls.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Those with ideas I love<\/p>\n
but would never have thought of<\/p>\n
in a million zillion years.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
How much of me is unfiltered?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Marlboro man puffing with certainty.<\/p>\n
Babe Ruth pointing to the stands.<\/p>\n
Ranting politicians.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
How much of me is unfiltered?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Each day dripping newness<\/p>\n
as if rain has washed away<\/p>\n
what used to be me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Much of me is unfiltered.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
because all my huge decisions,<\/p>\n
the ones that changed the rest of my life<\/p>\n
the ones I talk about reverentially now<\/p>\n
that may bore those around me who<\/p>\n
have heard the story one too many times\u2026<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
were shots of lightning<\/p>\n
blasted from the canon<\/p>\n
of imagination freed from<\/p>\n
the fear of doing something wrong.<\/p>\n
