I had a talk with my depression today<\/p>\n
I told him that I’m tired of the<\/p>\n
doubt he makes me feel toward<\/p>\n
myself.<\/p>\n
I told him that I’m tired<\/p>\n
of\u00a0all the self loathing<\/p>\n
and him controlling all<\/p>\n
of my emotions.<\/p>\n
I told him that I’m done allowing<\/p>\n
his influence on me,<\/p>\n
I can no longer in good<\/p>\n
conscience stand idly by<\/p>\n
as he continues to drain<\/p>\n
every facet of this life<\/p>\n
that is mine.<\/p>\n
I told him that<\/p>\n
I’m getting up from<\/p>\n
this ledge and that<\/p>\n
he no longer has<\/p>\n
the edge.<\/p>\n
I told him that<\/p>\n
Today I break away<\/p>\n
from\u00a0all things negative<\/p>\n
Today I start again<\/p>\n
freshly renewed.<\/p>\n
I told him that<\/p>\n
Today is the first day<\/p>\n
I begin the next chapter<\/p>\n
of my existence without<\/p>\n
him weighing me down<\/p>\n
like an anchor in<\/p>\n
my emotional ocean.<\/p>\n
we’ve been here<\/p>\n
before he and I but this<\/p>\n
time it’s different<\/p>\n
this time it’s concrete<\/p>\n
this time I refuse to<\/p>\n
offer my soul as a<\/p>\n
sacrifice upon the<\/p>\n
altar in which he seeks.<\/p>\n
