<\/p>\n
Oh! Canada\u2026<\/p>\n
We used to sing with ramrod straight backs and serious brows<\/p>\n
of the glorious crown of her majesty<\/p>\n
while my friends disappeared in the night.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cAll for the glory of God and country\u2026,\u201d we were told.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And yet\u2026<\/p>\n
the Spirit flowing through me<\/p>\n
couldn\u2019t find peace with it,<\/p>\n
wouldn\u2019t settle for a religion that<\/p>\n
strangled relationship and fed on the purest of the pure.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Insidious things pranced about in the daytime<\/p>\n
so proud<\/p>\n
so wicked<\/p>\n
blinded by arrogance and insatiable want of power.<\/p>\n
Sure they thrived under the cloak of deception.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And yet\u2026<\/p>\n
the Saviour walking with me<\/p>\n
wouldn\u2019t abandon me to their hands,<\/p>\n
couldn\u2019t stand the darkness of their hearts<\/p>\n
as He embraced the lost ones to His bosom.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Weeping splits the atmosphere.<\/p>\n
Sorrow reaches the Throne room<\/p>\n
the blood in the ground has cried out<\/p>\n
and Justice is dispatched<\/p>\n
in a timing so perfect I can not know it,<\/p>\n
but my jubilee gift, the most perfect, splendid present\u2026<\/p>\n
True Light pierces the darkness<\/p>\n
false light has layered before us for the last thousand years\u2026<\/p>\n
Lost little ones found,<\/p>\n
Truth like a banner of vindication stretches across the land.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My spirit and my soul rejoice<\/p>\n
at this most glorious Round Dance before me.<\/p>\n
Beautiful faces in the Cloud<\/p>\n
names only Justice has known<\/p>\n
languages long thought dead\u2026<\/p>\n
all these years they have been safe on the lap of Heaven.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Still, 10-year-old me thinks back to the last page<\/p>\n
And I finally understand;<\/p>\n
