{"id":91547,"date":"2021-06-26T13:40:12","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T17:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=91547"},"modified":"2021-06-26T13:40:27","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T17:40:27","slug":"the-lawnmower-computer-relationship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/the-lawnmower-computer-relationship\/","title":{"rendered":"The Lawnmower\/Computer Relationship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Lawnmower\/Computer Relationship<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I do not kill computers.<\/p>\n<p>I merely overtax their tiny chips<\/p>\n<p>with unusual attempts to work around glitches,<\/p>\n<p>until they shut down and wish for death.<\/p>\n<p>No animosity, really.<\/p>\n<p>They simply don\u2019t understand my thought processes.<\/p>\n<p>Computers are simple, not creative,<\/p>\n<p>unable to appreciate my artistic nature.<\/p>\n<p>Although never friends, we work together<\/p>\n<p>like incompatible co-workers<\/p>\n<p>forced to sit at adjacent desks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My husband kills lawnmowers.<\/p>\n<p>He doesn\u2019t hate them,<\/p>\n<p>but never met a small engine<\/p>\n<p>he couldn\u2019t destroy.<\/p>\n<p>A matter of expectations, really.<\/p>\n<p>Expects them to mow down<\/p>\n<p>3-foot-tall prairie grass<\/p>\n<p>in 100-degree weather,<\/p>\n<p>while sucking in dust.<\/p>\n<p>Theirs is an employer\/employee relationship,<\/p>\n<p>like Ebenezer Scrooge and Bob Cratchit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Lawnmower\/Computer Relationship &nbsp; I do not kill computers.
