Sometimes, while walking in the cemetery,<\/p>\n
I stop-<\/p>\n
and looking up at the sky,<\/p>\n
arching my neck beyond its capacity,<\/p>\n
I am enthralled by the curvature above.<\/p>\n
I can never tell\u2014<\/p>\n
Is it moving or am I?<\/p>\n
I know that the earth moves<\/p>\n
as do the clouds<\/p>\n
and I am less than a spec<\/p>\n
in that spectacular rotation.<\/p>\n
We miss so much<\/p>\n
in our normal forward movement;<\/p>\n
So I wonder, do the dead, in their perpetual state,<\/p>\n
lying in unspoken reverence,<\/p>\n
eyes to the sky forever,<\/p>\n
see what we do not?<\/p>\n
Are the living missing the show<\/p>\n
happening right above us?<\/p>\n
After a few moments,<\/p>\n
I retract my head,<\/p>\n
tired from craning upward<\/p>\n
and longing for the known.<\/p>\n
