{"id":91823,"date":"2021-06-26T14:00:14","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T18:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=91823"},"modified":"2021-06-26T14:00:14","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T18:00:14","slug":"7071-a-message","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/7071-a-message\/","title":{"rendered":"7071 &#8211; A message"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>7071 \u2013 A message<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 7071, a young couple moved to a new home.<\/p>\n<p>Exploring the backyard it was obvious it needed,<\/p>\n<p>Care and attention to relive its former blossom.<\/p>\n<p>They started digging at the back fence,<\/p>\n<p>Breaking ground and a few feet down, they found a bottle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It looked old and stained but they could see white paper inside.<\/p>\n<p>They thought whoever buried it was clever.<\/p>\n<p>The bottle was glass and made of silicon,<\/p>\n<p>therefore it wouldn\u2019t rot and hurt the environment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The note read:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>P<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>oetry helped me survive the dreaded and unknown Covid-19<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>O<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>nly my words and memories distracted my fragile mind<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>E<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>ach time I felt a struggle, I kept pen and paper near by<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>T<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>he struggle was real, lack of leadership from government caused chaos<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>R<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>ightly people were scared of the unknown. We pulled though.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><u>Y<\/u><\/em><\/strong><em>ou don\u2019t have to, but, can I recommend Poetry?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>P.s You never know what your words might mean to someone oneday.
